1) Each team must have an adult coach 21 years of age or older. Coaches will be in charge of team discipline and act as the team's representative throughout the entire tournament.

 

2) Teams are guaranteed four games. These games will be timed on two 20-minute halves with a 5-minute halftime.

 

3) All games are seven vs. seven: six field players and one goalie.

 

4) Team size- Teams must have a minimum of 10 players to insure competitive games. There will be only two face-offs, one to start the game and the second after halftime. After a goal is scored, the goalie will clear the ball out of the crease once the referee blows the whistle.

 

5) No body-checking, as players must play the ball at all times. There is no reason for body-checking; outworking someone is better than a body check. If this happens, teams will receive a one-minute penalty for unnecessary roughness.

 

6) Onside Rules- teams must have two players on offense and three on defense at all times.

 

7) Maximum of three long sticks on the field at a time.

 

8) Games consist of two 20-minute halves with a 5-minute halftime, running time. Time will be kept by a referee.

 

9) Penalties will be called by the referee and result in a fast break.

 

10) If a game is tied at the end of 40 minutes, each team will pick one player and a goalie to play BRAVEHEART. Braveheart starts with a face-off and the first goal wins.

 

11) During a face-off, middies must be on the same side as their face-off man. Attack men and defensemen must remain behind the restraining line until the referees signal possession. The goalie must stay in crease until possession is called.

 

12) During the game all substitution is on the fly. Players must step completely off of the field before a teammate enters the playing field.

 

13) Teams will each have two timeouts which will be one minute long.

 

14) Teams must wear matching jerseys with numbers.
